Space Drive test vehicle at the season finale on circuit & in rally use
Once again, the Space Drive technology carriers, all of which do not require a mechanical steering column, are put to great use. A total of five steer-by-wire test vehicles will be competing at two different events: at the Hockenheimring for the GTC Race season finale as part of the DTM and in Saxony at the 23rd International Lausitz Rally in Boxberg/Oberlausitz. Both races can be followed on the Internet.
Four steer-by-wire cars will go to the Hockenheimring this time: the Mercedes-AMG GT3 with a very special driver duo, DTM Champion Bernd Schneider and F1-Saftety-Car driver Bernd Mayländer. The Audi R8 LMS GT 3 will be driven by veteran Markus Winkelhock, the Porsche 911 GT3 R by Martin Ragginger and Kim Berwanger and the Porsche 718 Cayman GT 4 by a member of the 24h Team - Kai Riemer and Nikas Steinhaus. A lot of data for the Schaeffler Paravan engineers, who hope to improve the system over the winter.

On the other hand, it will be dusty and maybe a little bit muddy in Boxberg/Oberlausitz. European Rally Champion Armin Schwarz will sit in the steer-by-wire cockpit with his co-driver Dennis Zenz in the Ford Fiesta R5 #03. Here, the Space Drive System will be put to the test even more. With the Rally Ford Fiesta, also without mechanical connection between steering column and brake, a total of twelve special stages will be driven. Some selected sections or special stages will be published on Armin Schwarz' Facebook page and on the YouTube channel on a time-delayed basis from Friday around 5 p.m. and on Saturday.

The races of the GTC season finale - in the supporting programme of the DTM - can be followed live in the stream, commentated by Oliver Sittler. He will be supported by Verena Wriedt, who will report directly from the pit lane and the pre-start.
