The company is based in Herzogenaurach and even operates a subsidiary in Böblingen near Stuttgart. The company originated from Schaeffler Paravan Technologie GmbH & Co. KG, a former joint venture between Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG and Arnold Verwaltungs GmbH.
Schaeffler ByWire specializes in the development, installation and application of fail-safe drive-by-wire systems. With "Space Drive", the company offers patented hardware and software solutions which also allow it to contribute to fields including the further development of the various levels of autonomous driving.
